Projects at Rose Lawn

Getting a Face Lift: Bartow County maintenance workers have been hard at work this summer rebuilding the cupola on top of the carriage house in preparation for the new roof.

The carriage house dates back to the 1890s and was built by local contractor Eugene Smith, who also built the first floor of Rose Lawn, as well as numerous other private homes and public buildings in Bartow County.

The dirt floor was cemented during Mrs. Marie Parmenter's ownership, and during the Depression, the carriage house was used for dances hosted by Mrs. Parmenter.
